Telecom provides mobile and electronic service to Mauke

Telecom Cook Islands have installed transmission equipment to an existing tower in Mauke, which now provides Mobile Coverage to the island along with electronic service and its products e-top up, e-calling and e-WiFi.

A team of 5 of Telecom’s best technicians and engineers travelled to Mauke to install the Mobile network and e-Service on the existing tower which was erected in 2003/4 and used for TV broadcasting.

Implementation of the new services were well received by the people of Mauke and the project was completed and officially launched Tuesday 16 August 2011 by Telecom CEO Jules Maher, who flew up to Mauke to make a special presentation with great attendance from the public. The installation of the equipment and new services provided to Mauke also received special mention in parliament on Monday.

Committed to improving mobile coverage throughout the Cook Islands, Telecom is also looking at erecting towers in Avana, CITV and Atiu in the near future.
